COMPONENTS

The Six Components:
Beliefs
Celebrations
Ethics
Origins and Founders
Sacred Texts
Worship

These form the framework for the study of Christianity and of other Religions. Whilst most attention is given to Christianity, it is important that non-Christian Religions and Traditions are treated with integrity and respect. At each stage a different non-Christian Religion could be taught, or the same one could be continued with an emphasis on different aspects.

These Components require the knowledge and understanding of certain Topics, which should be introduced as appropriate in the progress of a pupil's religious education. The following lists are not exhaustive. The Topics are in two categories. The first is general to religions, the second comprises specific Topics for each Religion. These are not vocabulary lists.
